Short Shrift

15th-17th April 2013 at RADA STUDIOS, 16 Chenies Street, London

Presenting five plays of the most prominent contemporary Croatian playwrights in a three day rehearsed reading event 15-17 April at RADA Studios, Short Shrift is the first London showcase of the very best in Croatian drama today.

Rich variety of voices from one of the most vibrant European theatre scenes deal with the subjects of national and sexual identity, globalisation and immigration. Short Shrift features the seminal playwrights writing both in the UK and Croatia: Tena Štivičić, Ivor Martinić, Vlatka Vorkapić, Davor Špišić and Dino Pešut.

Supported by the Croatian Ministry of Culture, Croatian Embassy in London and British-Croatian Society and as a part of Welcome Croatia Festival celebrating Croatian EU ascension, Short Shrift will host a number of prominent Croatian actors and directors side by side with the British performers creating a great mix of talent.

Short Shrift is the first project of Honey-tongued Theatre Productions and, like all our future projects, will serve as a bridge between the cultures translating and promoting the best of South Eastern European drama in the UK.
